Alex Hodosh, DMD

A Love of Dentistry

I have practiced dentistry for over 30 years and still feel honored and happy to be welcomed into people’s lives.

I became enamored with dentistry as a young child. My father, Dr. Milton Hodosh, was a prominent dentist, as well as a leading researcher and inventor in the dental field. As I matured, I learned about the role oral health plays in a person’s overall wellbeing – physically and emotionally – and how improving dental health could have a lasting impact on an individual’s quality of life.

A Passion for Personal Care

It is amazing to have the opportunity, every day, to establish and nourish lasting friendships through my profession. Working with a diverse community, and hearing individual’s stories and learning from their experiences, expands my life: I am a better person, and dentist, because people share insights with me!

My desire is for each person to know: I listen without judgment; care about who they are, what they need, and what they want; and will always put their health, comfort, and wellbeing at the forefront of all I do.

Education and Experience

I attended Boston University, for a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and then Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. From Tufts, I received my Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 1987.

Dental school was rigorous and challenging. It gave me a foundational understanding of oral health, as well as skills to address general dental issues. I also learned that dentistry is a constantly advancing field.

Ongoing research leads to innovative technologies and materials, improving diagnostics, procedures, and outcomes. It is crucial I stay at the forefront of the latest developments, seeking improved methods and technology, in order to provide the ideal care, experience, and results.

It is also critical for me, I believe, to constantly expand my knowledge and skills, in order to offer a wider range of services. This belief led me to complete the Brookdale Hospital Implant Maxi Course. This advanced training in dental implants, including surgery and restorative techniques, allows me to better serve our patients.

Throughout the year I participate in numerous study groups, attend dental and technology conferences, and stay current with the latest published literature.

Beyond Dentistry

I grew up in Providence and have been a Rhode Island resident my whole life. When I’m not in the office, I prioritize time with my children and enjoy their various interests and activities. I also value quality time with friends and enjoy fishing and skiing.

I also find pleasure in giving back to our community: helping the homeless, as well as supporting local youth softball leagues, local libraries, and neighborhood churches.
